Reviews

I have decided to write my review on the movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, directed by David Fincher. When I first had heard about the movie I didn't really know what to expect in theaters. I was amazed at the work the film producers had done to make actor Brad Pitt age the way he did in this movie, who ages in reverse. Although I know a lot of people that said the movie was lame, at least it was out of the box. With that being said, I really look forward to writing this review.

J Edgar

I didn't really know what this movie was about until i just read this review. It looks really interesting because Leonardo DiCaprio and Clint Eastwood are two of the best in the business. So, my expectations for this movie are really high, which may not be a good thing. If its any short of greatness i will probably be disappointed. It kind of looks like its got that Benjamin Button effect on J Edgar, with him aging throughout the movie, which is also very hard to do so I am very interested to see how they did.

Commercial ad

It seems that many insurance companies have really been trying hard to use humor with their ads in the last couple of years. I always get a kick out them because most of the time their just bashing on each others companies policies, beliefs, etc. I went with this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNLPfnTDCsU. I think this commercial is perfect because it has humor and appeals to emotion. While at the same time makes another company (in which they do not name but we all know who they are) look really bad. I have always wondered if its right that they can do this to each other.

Modern Science

I thought that this was clearly a bias article. It is in favor of getting rid of death row because of the lack of DNA evidence that lawyers and the courts have on the inmates on death row. In the headline it says that 23 innocent people have been removed from the living, but how do we really know that they were innocent? There is no evidence to back it up except for stating that there are incompetent lawyers, racial bias, and lack of access to DNA testing, but that's not any real evidence. Just because a couple people were taken off death row because there innocence was proven doesn't mean that the system is flawed.

Fameiness

I thought this was an interesting piece about fame because it shows how any real idiot can be famous these days. I think that the writer brings up a very good point in this story bringing up that in order to acquire fame now a days requires no real talent at all. Its true because we live in a technological error where you can make a video and put it on YouTube for the whole world to see. 100 years ago it would have been much harder to be well known and you would have had to bust your butt in order for people to like you and to be known.

Tortillas

Before reading this piece i had known little about the tortilla and the importance of it to the Mexican culture. I really liked how Jose explained that in Mexico each tortilla that is made is unique in its own way, being hand crafted. I never knew that the tortilla was used for so many different things in Mexico, from a child using it as a mask to making it onto the dinner tables of many families throughout the world. Another thing i thought was interesting was the expansion of tortillas throughout the world, although they are mass produced here in the USA, it is much easier for everyone to enjoy! But eating mass produced tortillas really makes me want to try a real hand made tortilla in Mexico!

A wife

I thought that this piece was interesting because it never actually states if a wife is a man or a women. The person writing this sounds to be a little selfish, or their fantasy world of what a wife should be. If a wife really did all these things then they would either have to be a robot or just a flat out slave. I like how it makes you think how maybe some people take their spouses for granted.
